Complementary & Alternative Medicine
Complementary & Alternative Medicine may be coming of age for many patients.

I had to fight for my own health and fired many doctors. I had to self-research and be fiercely determined to be heard. … Most of my health need answers came from beyond traditional medicine and was all out of pocket.

You Say Tomato? We Say Holistic

Complementary & Alternative Medicine HerbalismWhen we first started the journey toward holistic health in the early 2000’s the widely-used term was Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM). Over the last decade “alternative” has dropped from many vocabularies.  We now find terms like integrative, holistic (our favorite), and complementary, among others. The overarching goal is and should always be promoting health for people.

Real Engagement

As a family-owned business focused on transforming healthcare through a holistic approach, HealthCare Too looks at the whole (funny how that works). We promote holistic health founded on well-informed consumer choice and (preferably) in concert with a care team. People like Molly Peterson are taking more interest (and control) in their health decisions. It is the ultimate patient engagement… something the US healthcare industry embraces. We are glad to see so many people enjoying the deals we find and the articles we share. This is our small contribution to “engagement”.

People should engage their care teams. The article points out that complementary & alternative medicine offers an opportunity for patients to be seen and heard. It is perhaps also an opportunity for providers to see and hear the people who rely on them. Physician burnout out is real. We speak with physicians all the time. It is infuriating to not “cure” so many chronic diseases. We can all grow together through mutual engagement and respect.
